WHat You Can Expect Day 1 Today we performed your Step 1 Soil Conditioning and Step 2 Slice Seeding Process. You will notice areas of your lawn have been disturbed. This does NOT hurt the lawn. It actually helps us perform our “Magic”. Tufts or clumps of debris may have accumulated on top of the “work” areas. We inspect all areas upon completion and excessive accumulations are removed. What remains will easily decompose to become part of the soil profile or be removed by your next mowing! Day 7 Your lawn is starting to green up and grow healthier already. You may notice seed starting to generate. These are our “nurse” grasses. These early germinating species protect the later germinating important bluegrasses. Some parts of your existing lawn may need to be mowed. Mowing is OK now. Continue to keep moist daily and limit traffic. Day 15 Germination continues, you may notice some areas germinate quicker than others. This is caused by variation in soil temperatures. No worry – it all catches up very soon! Day 30-40 At this time your lawn will still have bare areas. Bluegrass seedlings are just starting to germinate now. All areas of your lawn can now be mowed. Watering frequently can be reduced. Longer, deeper watering now helps build deep roots. Emerald Magic will be inspecting the lawn and performing its 30-40 day follow-up now. Upon inspection Emerald Magic will seed any areas requiring more care. Important need now is maintaining proper soil fertility to keep your newly restored lawn growing healthy & vigor. Regular feedings and check ups are essential. If not already scheduled call to schedule your Emerald Magic Lawn Care Program. Day 60 Lawn Density is more evident now. No longer individual grass plants, lateral growth is increasing; knitting a thick plush blanket of lush, emerald green lawn. With proper fertilization and continuing care from Emerald Magic, your lawn will continue to thicken. Regular watering is needed.
